Today is Arbor Day. Founded in 1952 by the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald, it is now one of the most successful tree and forest protection campaigns in Germany, with numerous tree plantings and events.

For several years now, we have been committed to the environment and – together with Data Respons – are guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We want to become CO₂-neutral by 2025. Green electricity from renewable energy sources and offsetting air travel by supporting climate protection projects are just two measures that already contribute to our CO₂ reduction. We also participate in tree planting in cooperation with PLANT-MY-TREE®. For more than two decades, the company has been implementing significant reforestation projects in Germany.

Trees play an important role for our climate as well as for our ecosystem and thus also for our quality of life. They contribute to CO₂ reduction and clean the air of pollutants. They also provide valuable habitats for animals and plants and prevent erosion. Last but not least, they also serve us humans as recreational space in the form of forests.

So there are many reasons to plant new trees. Since climate change does not stop at our doorstep, we as a company based in Leipzig also want to make a difference in the surrounding area.

Since 2020, we have therefore been planting one tree for every 1,000 kilometres covered in our "move IT" sports competition in the region with our partner PLANT-MY-TREE®. This year we planted 102 trees in Nobitz-Runsdorf. Among them were red oaks, hornbeams, common black locust, black alder, tree hazel, slope birch and weeping cherry. We are planning another tree planting next year based on this year's "move IT".
